Creative Phone Photography with Merrill Images
Join pro photographers John and Lisa Merrill to jumpstart your phone camera photography. In their inspiring presentation, the Merrills will introduce you to the keys to compelling images: light, design and moment. You’ll learn about your phone’s powerful features (including portrait mode, burst mode for action and panorama mode for stunning landscapes and seascapes) along with apps to extend its capabilities and nourish your creativity. The Merrills will also share tips to help you organize your photos, optimize your favorites and combine them into compelling visual stories of your UnCruise adventures to treasure and share.
Nature, Wildlife, and Outdoor Adventure Photography
Join pro photographers John and Lisa Merrill to expand your creative toolbox and grow as a visual storyteller. In their inspiring presentation, the Merrills will help you notice the nuances of light and compose for impact – and intentionally make, versus take, photos. Using inspiring examples from hiking, kayaking, cycling and other adventures in the Pacific Northwest and around the world, John and Lisa will help you create magnificent wide-angle landscapes, close-ups of nature’s intricate patterns, and engaging portraits of family and friends in the great outdoors. You’ll explore techniques to capture people and wildlife in action.
Photo Coaching Aboard the Safari Voyager
John and Lisa Merrill are partnering with UnCruise to help you nurture your creativity and strengthen your ability to tell compelling visual stories of the places you explore, the people you meet and the wildlife you encounter. Photography instruction throughout your Baja adventure is personalized, informal and optional. Photographers of all levels with any camera (including a phone) are welcome to take advantage of the Merrill’s expertise.
On-location photo coaching can be transformative, as you learn to notice light and compose for impact – and intentionally make, versus take, photos. As needed, John and Lisa will help demystify your camera’s features and settings. While exploring Baja, they’ll offer encouragement and share tips to expand your visual toolbox so you can create high-impact images with a strong sense of place. Through experimentation you’ll discover new ways of seeing and photographing. Private image reviews will help you grow as a photographer, and the Merrills will facilitate image-sharing among fellow UnCruise adventurers for additional inspiration.
