Galapagos Hospitality and Transfer Updates

*Updated February 27th, 2023

The Ecuadorian government authorities have updated the regulations regarding facemask wearing: they are no longer obligatory in open or closed spaces anywhere — the only exceptions are hospitals and medical facilities.

The local health authorities based their decision on the recent decrease in coronavirus cases and the fact that 82% of the population is double vaccinated.

La Pinta no longer require our guests to wear masks. Masks are still recommended on public transport, aboard planes and while traveling on our shared transfers or transportation.

The rules for traveling to the Galapagos Islands are the same as those for Ecuador.

We would like to let you know the good news that the Ecuadorian authorities have relaxed the rules and paperwork for passengers arriving in the country from today. The rules are now:

Passengers do not have to fill out the Health Declaration form before or on arrival.

Only passengers with the following symptoms need do so: high temperature, cough, general malaise, loss of smell or taste, or cutaneous eruptions.  The form can be filled in online (https://declaracionsalud-viajero.msp.gob.ec/) or on arrival on paper.

As a reminder, it is not necessary to present proof of vaccinations, or any COVID-19 test certificates, to enter Ecuador.

Furthermore, mask wearing is no longer mandatory anywhere in Ecuador, except in hospitals and medical centers. We recommended guests wear masks when using transport services such as vehicles or airplanes.

Guayaquil Transfer Information:

After exiting Immigration and Customs at the Guayquil airport, walk towards the exit doors in front of you and look for the representative with the UnCruise sign. If arriving on a domestic flight, the representative will be waiting by the exit doors of the domestic baggage claim area. If they are not there when you arrive, they are helping other guests and will be right back to assist you with your transfer to the hotel--thank you for your patience. We recognize that airlines sometimes adjust their flight times throughout the season. You only need to contact us directly if your flight number changes or your arrival time changes by over an hour. Otherwise, be assured that our ground operators monitor all inbound flights and will make any pick up time adjustments for you.
